According to officials, Officer Jake Dube, a three-year veteran of the Keene Police Department, fired a single shot that struck Cullen Costa in the chest during an encounter on April 29 near the intersection of Baker and Colby Streets. Costa was transported to a local hospital where he continues to receive treatment and is listed in stable condition.

Details about what led up to the shooting have not yet been disclosed. The Attorney General’s office said the investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released until a full report on the use of force is finalized.
