KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) A 45-year-old inmate at the Cheshire County House of Corrections has been arrested after police say he tried to arrange the murder of two people from behind bars.

According to the Keene Police Department, detectives launched an investigation earlier this month into an alleged murder-for-hire plot involving inmate Edward LePore. During the course of the investigation, officers monitored communications between LePore and a person outside the jail.

Police said that evidence gathered from those exchanges led to LePore’s arrest on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the correctional facility. He has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and solicitation to commit murder.

LePore is being held without bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday, Oct. 29, in 8th Circuit Court – Keene Division.

Detective Don Lundin is leading the investigation. Police are asking anyone with information related to LePore or the alleged plot to contact the Keene Police Department at 357-9820.

The department said it received assistance from the Cheshire County House of Corrections Security Office during the investigation.
