KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) A Keene police officer sustained minor injuries after a police cruiser and a pickup truck were involved in a collision on Route 9 late Wednesday afternoon. The incident took place around 3:30 p.m. near the crest of Concord Hill, where the officer was in the process of initiating a traffic stop when the crash occurred.
Both vehicles were severely damaged in the collision and had to be removed from the scene by tow trucks. The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured and left the scene in a private vehicle. The officer was taken to Cheshire Medical Center for a precautionary evaluation and was cleared to return to duty shortly afterward.
New Hampshire State Police from Troop C have taken charge of the investigation to determine what led to the accident. Officials are asking any witnesses to come forward. Those with information or media inquiries can reach out to Sgt. Yarosz of NHSP Troop C.
