KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) As the Monadnock Region prepares to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary next July, My Keene Now is inviting local business owners with deep roots in the community to be part of a special feature series highlighting the region’s longest-running businesses.
The series, “Keene’s Longest-Running Businesses,” will be featured in the online Monadnock 250 Guide, a growing resource dedicated to the people, places, events, and history connected to the region’s participation in the nation’s semi-quincentennial celebration.
The special section will spotlight businesses that have operated for at least 10 years and continue to serve the community today. Organizers say the goal is to showcase the establishments that have become part of the fabric of the Monadnock Region, preserving local traditions while adapting and growing through changing times.
From family-owned retailers and restaurants to service providers and community institutions, the feature series will explore the histories behind businesses that have endured for decades and the people who helped build them.
For a nominal fee, participating businesses will receive professionally written profiles detailing their history, milestones, community impact, and continued role in the region. The stories will be published as part of a sponsored series within the Monadnock 250 Guide and will remain available online for readers exploring the area’s history and heritage leading up to the July 4, 2026 celebration.
The Monadnock 250 Guide launched this month as a free online resource through My Keene Now. The guide serves as a central hub for coverage related to the region’s observance of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and includes event updates, historical features, photographs, and community stories.
Organizers of the broader Monadnock 250 celebration are planning a full day of festivities in downtown Keene on July 4, 2026, including a parade, live entertainment, historical demonstrations, family activities, food vendors, and participation from organizations throughout the region.
Business owners interested in being featured in the Keene’s Longest-Running Businesses series can contact My Keene Now for information about participation and sponsorship opportunities. Space in the series is limited, and stories will be published on a rolling basis in the months leading up to the anniversary celebration.
The Monadnock 250 Guide can be found in the Features section of My Keene Now and will continue to be updated with new content through next summer.
