KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Monadnock Family Services has announced a transition in leadership on its Board of Directors, along with several additional board and staff updates.

Ed Walker has stepped down as board chair, citing increased family and professional obligations that limit his ability to continue in the role. Walker shared the decision in March 2026 and expressed confidence in the organization’s leadership and future direction. He will remain involved as a supporter.

The board has appointed Heather Scheck as interim chair. Scheck, who joined the board in 2023, currently serves as regional vice president and branch manager at Savings Bank of Walpole and brings more than two decades of professional experience, along with prior executive leadership roles on the MFS board.

The organization also announced additional board appointments. Liane Wiley has joined and will serve as treasurer, bringing experience in banking and nonprofit accounting. Linda Glasschroeder, a registered nurse, has also joined the board, contributing nearly 40 years of healthcare experience, including work in mental health services and quality improvement.

In addition, the board voted to name John Santos a lifetime board member in recognition of his long-term service to the organization.

Separately, MFS officials said Kayla (Cranston) Szczesiul is no longer with the organization as it navigates a transition within its development team. The organization is conducting a search for a new director of development and said it remains focused on maintaining relationships with donors and community partners during the transition.

A spokesperson for the organization said MFS will continue to prioritize continuity and leadership while serving individuals and families across the Monadnock Region.
