MONADNOCK REGION, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Monadnock United Way (MUW) is teaming up with United Ways across New Hampshire for the state’s first-ever united coat drive, aimed at keeping residents warm as colder weather approaches.

The NH United Ways Coat Drive, which runs through Oct. 31, is collecting new and gently used coats for both children and adults. MUW has partnered with local organizations, including the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club, to establish drop-off locations throughout the Monadnock Region.

“Here in the Monadnock Region, neighbors look out for one another,” said Monadnock United Way President Liz LaRose in a news release. “This coat drive is a simple but powerful way we can come together to make sure every child waiting for the bus, every parent heading to work, and every person in our community is prepared for the cold months ahead.”

Community members can participate by donating coats at drop-off sites or by visiting muw.org/coats for local locations and graniteuw.org/nhcoatdrive for statewide options. MUW is also encouraging residents to spread the word to help increase the drive’s impact.

Organizers say the strong response so far highlights the region’s generosity and commitment to supporting those in need. “Together, we’re ensuring that New Hampshire residents enter the winter months with dignity and warmth,” the organization said in a news release.
