MARLBOROUGH, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) A late-night motorcycle crash on Route 124 in Marlborough left a Jaffrey man with serious injuries Tuesday, according to police.
Emergency crews were called to the area of 231 Route 124 around 11:40 p.m. on Sept. 9, where they found a 39-year-old rider badly hurt after his motorcycle went off the road. He was first taken to Cheshire Medical Center in Keene before being transferred to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon for further treatment.
Investigators say the man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash but did not have a valid motorcycle license. Evidence from the scene and witness accounts indicate that speed and alcohol likely played a role in the crash. Police said criminal charges are expected as the investigation continues.
The Marlborough Police and Fire departments responded with help from Cheshire County EMS, Dublin Police, and Emerson’s Towing & Repair. Authorities are asking anyone who saw the motorcycle or rider before the crash to contact Marlborough Police at 603-876-3311.
