KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Following an extensive search, The Community Kitchen has named Barb Weisman as its new executive director.
As the organization’s interim executive director over the past two months and previously as director of development and communications, Weisman has become a familiar face within the organization, building relationships and leading initiatives to advance its mission.
Weisman joins The Community Kitchen with more than 15 years of experience in nonprofit work, particularly in fundraising, event management, and community outreach, according to a news release.
Her prior role at Breakthrough T1D, formerly known as JDRF was fostering partnerships and driving initiatives aimed at long-term impact—skills she’s excited to bring to The Community Kitchen in this new role.
“I am thrilled to continue serving The Community Kitchen as Executive Director and to build upon the incredible work that has been done over the past 40 years,” said Weisman in the release. “Our organization has been a pillar of support for the Monadnock region, and I am eager to strengthen our partnerships, expand our programs, and ensure that everyone in our community has access to nutritious food.”
Weisman will oversee the day-to-day operations, lead fundraising efforts, and work closely with local businesses and volunteers to strengthen the Community Kitchen’s outreach. She is also tasked with managing the organization’s resources, guiding its staff and volunteers, and advancing its long-standing mission to provide nutritious food to those in need.
