BRATTLEBORO, VT (MyKeeneNow) – A New York resident was arrested Saturday following an investigation into his alleged involvement in drug distribution in the area.
This marks the second major arrest for Pablo Rodriguez, 63, in recent months after local authorities had been receiving numerous drug-related complaints, according to a press release from the Brattleboro Police Department.
Rodriguez first came under police scrutiny on June 5 when officers executed a traffic stop at the Quality Inn on Putney Road. A subsequent search of his vehicle led to the discovery of 500 bags of suspected fentanyl and 26.72 grams of crack cocaine, the release said. Authorities further searched his room at the same location, where they found an additional 960 bags of suspected fentanyl and 24.6 grams of crack cocaine, bringing the total to 1,460 bags of fentanyl and 51.32 grams of crack cocaine.
Rodriguez was arrested at the scene and held on $100,000 bail. He was charged with possession and conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and crack cocaine. Following his arraignment in Windham County Superior Court, Rodriguez was transported to Southern State Correctional Facility. He was released on bond on September 12,
However, the investigation into Rodriguez did not end there. Officers responded Sept. 28 to further complaints about his activity, this time at the EconoLodge on Canal Street. A search of his room uncovered approximately 170 bags of suspected crack cocaine. Rodriguez was again taken into custody and held on $100,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court today.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to look into his potential involvement in the local drug trade.
