SWANZEY, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Carl came to the shelter from a hoarding situation in July of last year. While he was initially more outgoing, the stress of shelter life has left him feeling overwhelmed and withdrawn. He is incredibly undersocialized with people and will need an adopter who understands that building trust takes time. A quiet home where he can start in a small space and gradually adjust at his own pace will be key to helping him feel safe and secure.

One thing Carl truly adores is the company of other cats, and he comes out to play all night long! He would thrive with a confident feline friend who can show him the ropes and help him build confidence. While he hasn’t had much experience with dogs, he may do well with a mellow, calm pup who respects his space. Because of his shy nature, Carl would do best in a home with older, cat-savvy kids who can give him the time he needs to come out of his shell.

If you have the patience, love, and understanding to help Carl rediscover his sense of security, he could be the perfect quiet companion for your home.

To meet Carl, visit the Monadnock Humane Society during open hours on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., or call Adoption & Foster Care Coordinator Nicole Benn at 354-4004 to schedule an appointment. Immediate assistance is available by calling the adoption desk at 352-9011.
