SWANZEY, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Meet Poseidon, a sweet senior boy with a big heart and an even bigger capacity for love. Though life hasn’t always been easy for him, Poseidon has remained joyful, people-oriented, and deeply devoted to those he trusts. He’s the kind of dog who forms strong bonds and thrives on companionship.

Poseidon does well with children and would make a wonderful family dog for a home looking for a loyal, gentle presence. He previously lived successfully with a small dog for several years, but in his current environment he has shown some reactive behavior toward other dogs. Because of that, staff believe he would be happiest as the only dog in his new home, where he can relax without stress.

While Poseidon has no known history with cats, he has lived peacefully with rats and lizards, showing a calm and respectful nature around smaller animals. Veterinary visits can be stressful for him, but the shelter team has been working closely with Poseidon to help make those experiences more comfortable and positive.

Poseidon is searching for a quiet, loving home where he can feel secure, unwind, and enjoy the affection he so freely gives. For the right family, he promises unwavering loyalty and a whole lot of love.
