SWANZEY, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – At the Monadnock Humane Society, this week’s featured pet is Sampson, a 10-year-old male Shepherd mix with a gentle soul and a big heart.
Sampson has had a tough time adjusting after his previous owner could no longer care for him. The shelter environment is overwhelming for him, and he’s still learning to feel comfortable. He takes time to warm up to new people, but once he trusts you, he’ll be a devoted companion.
Carrying a little extra weight, Sampson is working on getting back in shape and enjoys going for walks. He gets along well with other dogs and would love a canine friend to help him adjust. He hasn’t lived with cats before, but with proper introductions, he might do well. A calm home with older, respectful children would be the best fit for him.
Sampson finds comfort in his crate, enjoys spending time outside, and walks well on a leash. He’s looking for a patient adopter who will give him time to come out of his shell and provide him with a peaceful, loving home.
If you’re ready to give Sampson a second chance, visit the Monadnock Humane Society during open hours Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., or call Adoption & Foster Care Coordinator Nicole Benn at 354-4004 to schedule an appointment. Immediate assistance is available by calling the adoption desk at 352-9011.
