DUBLIN, N.H. – (MyKeeneNow) Police have identified the victim of an apparent drowning in Dublin Friday.
The body of Timothy Aeschliman, 51, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, was recovered from Dublin Lake on Friday afternoon following an apparent drowning, according to police.
First responders were called to the north side of Dublin Lake just before 3:30 p.m., according to a news release, after a couple that was paddle boarding reported they found an unresponsive male in the water.
Aeschliman, who was wearing a wetsuit and swim cap, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police located Aeschliman’s vehicle and sneakers several hundred feet from where he was found. Authorities currently believe the drowning was accidental, though the cause of death remains under investigation by the Dublin Police Department, New Hampshire Marine Patrol, and the Medical Examiner’s office.
The Dublin and Peterborough Fire Departments and New Hampshire State Police assisted at the scene.
According to his obituary, Aeschliman was born and raised in Keene and was a graduate of Keene High School and a 1997 graduate of Keene State College.
“Tim loved to travel, and he loved photography,” his obituary reads. “He spent months on the road living in his van, visiting national parks and other places throughout the country. He had a knack for seeing the beauty and wonder in the world around him and loved capturing these moments with his camera. He enjoyed visiting remote and beautiful places, meeting interesting people, and making new friends along the way.”
