RINDGE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) -Three people sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash late Friday night near the Rindge-Winchendon town line.
The accident occurred shortly after 11 p.m. in the Forristall Road area when an SUV flipped over and struck a tree, according to a social media post from the Rindge Fire Department. Emergency responders from the Winchendon Fire Department were the first to arrive, discovering three victims lying in the roadway near the heavily damaged vehicle.
Rindge Fire Department crews secured the scene and stabilized the overturned SUV, allowing paramedics to begin urgent medical treatment. Due to the severity of the injuries, two medical helicopters were initially requested, but none were available. The patients were instead transported by ambulance to a Level 1 trauma center in Worcester, Massachusetts. Paramedics from Winchendon, Peterborough, and Fitzwilliam-Troy, with additional support from Ashburnham Fire Department, provided care during the transport.
Multiple agencies, including the Rindge and Winchendon Police Departments, responded to the scene, with assistance from bystanders. The road was reopened around 12:30 a.m.
