KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) A two-vehicle crash on Route 10 Wednesday morning left a Keene man seriously injured and temporarily shut down a busy stretch of roadway just north of the Route 9 intersection.
According to the Keene Police Department, officers were dispatched around 8:40 a.m. for reports of a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer in the southbound lane.
Investigators say a 2016 Ford Focus traveling north crossed the center line and entered the path of a southbound 2023 Mack tractor-trailer. The two vehicles collided head-on.
The Ford was driven by Bradley Clough, 42, of Keene. The tractor-trailer was operated by Kyle Ayres, 50, of Leicester, Massachusetts. No passengers were in either vehicle.
Both drivers were taken to Cheshire Medical Center for treatment. Clough was later flown by medical helicopter to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester for advanced care related to his injuries. Ayres’ condition has not been released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the department’s Collision Analysis Team. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Detective/Lt. Chidester at the Keene Police Department.
The crash occurred during the morning commute and prompted a significant emergency response in the area.
