KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) The City of Keene’s sewer rehabilitation project continues this week with more utility upgrades in East Keene. On Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025, crews from GVC Construction will install a new sewer manhole in front of 32 Eastern Ave. as part of the city’s sewer rehabilitation program.

During this phase of work, motorists and pedestrians should expect minor disruptions, including temporary lane and sidewalk closures near the site. Construction areas will be clearly marked and barricaded, and traffic control personnel will help guide vehicles and pedestrians safely through the area.

This work is part of a larger rehabilitation effort that began on Sept. 15, replacing outdated sewer standpipes with standard-size manholes throughout East Keene. The three-month project includes work on numerous neighborhood streets such as Appleton Street, Brook Street, Marlboro Street, South Street, Willow Street, and many others.

City officials thank residents for their patience as these critical infrastructure improvements continue.
