KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) The City of Keene has launched the next phase of its sewer rehabilitation program, with work beginning Monday, Sept. 8, and expected to continue through early December.
Contractor Insituform Technologies will be lining and cleaning existing sewer mains across a number of residential streets. The work is part of an ongoing effort to upgrade the city’s aging infrastructure and extend the lifespan of its utility network.
Motorists and pedestrians should expect temporary lane restrictions and sidewalk closures in active construction zones. City officials said all work areas will be clearly marked, with traffic control personnel on site to guide people safely through.
While the project is expected to cause only minor disruptions, the city is urging residents to allow extra time when traveling through affected neighborhoods and to exercise caution near construction crews and equipment.
A full list of impacted streets is available on the City of Keene website. For more information, residents can contact the Public Works Department at 352-6550.
