HINSDALE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – Area police are continuing the search for a Hinsdale man reported missing for over a week.
On Saturday New Hampshire State Police (NHSP) issued a Silver Alert for Scott Plante, 62, who the Hinsdale Police Department had reported missing last Wednesday. The alert was canceled shortly before 12:30 Monday afternoon, but no further details have been provided.
In the initial report, Hinsdale Police said Plante had last been seen or heard from on April 16th. Later, police said Plante had made contact with a good friend on the 17th, and surveillance footage showed him at Walmart in town early that morning.

In an update Monday morning Hinsdale police said they had viable information that on April 17th Plante parked his vehicle at the Millstream Riverfront Park and exited his vehicle before 9 am that day, walking towards with river without coming back into view of surveillance footage.
Search efforts are now being focused in and around the Ashuelot and Connecticut River, and New Hampshire Fish and Game will continue conducting searches of the river by means of boat and divers, as well as a side-scan sonar.
The Hinsdale Police Department has not provided an update since NHSP canceled the Silver Alert. As of this morning the department was stilling taking any tips or leads in the case, which can be reported to Cheshire County Dispatch at 603-355-2000.
