PROVIDENCE, R.I. (MyKeeneNow) Six Keene State student-athletes were honored by the Little East Conference for achievements accomplished for the week of 9/30-10/6.

Women’s Cross Country 

 Freshman Kallie Warner (Buxton, Maine) earned LEC Rookie of the Week for the third time in her first year as an Owl, due to her performance at the Keene State Invitational on Saturday morning at the Owl Athletic Complex. Warner was one of four top 30 finishers for the Owls, out of the field of 240 runners, as she placed 29th with a time of 19:09.6 on the 5K (3.1 mile) course, behind Maggie St. John (15th, 18:35.8), Anna O’Reilly (26th, 19:04.0), and Sarah Ames (28th, 19:08.1). Warner and the Owls finished second, with 117 points, of the 23 participating teams. 

Warner and the Owls will travel to the Connecticut College Invitational in Waterford on Saturday, October 19 for their next action.

Men’s Cross Country

 Freshman Ben Tetu (Walpole) was named the LEC Rookie of the Week again for the fourth time in as many weeks that the Owls have had a meet, due to his performance at the Keene State Invitational on Saturday at the Owl Athletic Complex. Tetu ran the 8K (4.97 mile) course in 26:51.4, placing 34th of the field of 237 runners, which was the second fastest time for an Owl, behind Tyler Bolaske (16th, 25:59.5).  

Tetu and the Owls will travel to the Connecticut College Invitational in Waterford on Saturday, October 19 for their next action.

 Men’s Soccer

Freshman defender Jack Corby (Plymouth, MA) was named the LEC Defensive Player of the Week due to his efforts in KSC’s two LEC contests over the week in which KSC went 1-0-1. In the Owls’ 1-0 win over Vermont State University Castleton, Corby logged 45 minutes in one half of play. While in the second game of the week, a 1-1 draw with UMass-Dartmouth, Corby played the full 90 minutes, while anchoring the KSC defense. Over the time that Corby was on the field, the KSC defense only allowed five shots on goal over the 135 minutes.  

Senior goalkeeper Regan Racicot (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was named the LEC goalkeeper of the week after posting a shutout win over VTSUC and drawing against UMD in KSC’s two games on the week. In each of the games, Racicot made a pair of saves, while just allowing one goal in the 180 minutes of play, which came against the Corsairs. Racicot’s shutout against the Spartans is his third of the season. 

Field Hockey

Junior forward Grace Bazin (Westminster, Vt.) was named the LEC Offensive Player of the week, for the third time this season, from her performance in the Owls’ two games over the week. In the first game, at Endicott College, Bazin scored a goal on her two shots on goal, as she moved to 98 career collegiate points. When the Owls returned to LEC play at home in a crucial matchup against the University of Southern Maine, Bazin reached the 100 career collegiate point milestone, as she recorded a pair of goals and an assist in KSC’s 5-2 win over the Huskies.  

Freshman goalkeeper, Katelyn Nicotera (Medford, Mass.) was named the LEC Rookie of the Week from her performance over the two games from KSC over the week. Against Endicott College, after entering in goal at the start of the second quarter, Nicotera only allowed one goal, while making five saves in net over her 45 minutes played. In the Owls 5-2 win over USM, Nicotera recorded three more saves and picked up her second win on the season in net for the Owls.
