BEATTLEBORO, VT (MyKeeneNow) Brattleboro police arrested a Springfield, Vermont man Wednesday afternoon after responding to a reported break-in at a Chase Street residence.

Officers were dispatched to the home at about 1:05 p.m. on Jan. 21 following a call that someone had unlawfully entered an unoccupied house. According to police, as officers arrived on scene, a man attempted to run out the front door but was quickly stopped and taken into custody.

The suspect was identified as 44-year-old Jason S. Moul of Springfield. An investigation determined that Moul had taken a small amount of money from inside the residence, police said.

Authorities also learned that Moul was under court-ordered conditions of release at the time of the incident that barred him from being in Windham County.

Moul was arrested and charged with burglary, resisting arrest, and violating conditions of release. He was held at the Brattleboro Police Department pending $50,000 bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Windham County Superior Court Thursday.
