KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – New Hampshire primary voters cast their ballots for candidates for governor, Congress and the entire state Legislature today. Two of the top races, Governor and 2nd Congressional District Representative are extra competitive with no incumbent running. 8:05 pm – The Associated Press has declared Kelly Ayotte the winner of the Republican Primary for Governor, defeating former New Hampshire Senate President Chuck Morse. She’ll face the winner of the Democratic Primary, former Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig, or Executive Councilor Cinde Warmington. Read the full story here.
8:50 pm – In the race for the Democratic nomination for the seat being vacated by Congresswoman Annie Kuster in Congressional District 2 (CD-2), the Associated Press has declared Maggie Goodlander the winner over Colin Van Ostern, who previously served as Kuster’s campaign chair, and was endorsed by Kuster. Incumbent District 1 Congressman Chris Pappas won his primary earlier this evening.
9:50 pm – Joyce Craig has been declared the winner of the Democratic race for Governor over current Executive Councilor Cinde Warmington. She’ll face Republican nominee Kelly Ayotte in the General Election on November 5th. Read the full story here.
10:30 pm – The Associated Press has declared Lily Tang Williams the winner of the Republican Primary for Congressional District 2 (CD-2). She’ll face Democrat Maggie Goodlander in the General Election on November 5th.
Town-by-Town results in Cheshire County
Alstead: On the Democratic ticket, voters supported Cinde Warmington in the gubernatorial race with 154 votes, while Joyce Craig lagged behind with 69 votes, and Jon Kiper earned 16. Maggie Goodlander defeated Colin Van Ostern for CD-2 Representative in Alstead 152-91, and Karen Liot Hill earned 154 votes in the race for Executive Councilor in District 2 over Mike Liberty, who finished with 66. Republican voters threw their support behind Kelly Ayotte for Governor. She earned 123 votes in Alstead over Chuck Morse who earned 69. In the race for CD-2 Representative, Lily Tang Williams narrowly came out on top with 51 votes, followed by Vikram Mansharamani with 49, and Bill Hamlen with 32. For Executive Councilor in District 2, Kim Strathdee earned 84 votes over Mary Rose Deak’s 51.
Chesterfield: Cinde Warmington earned the support of Democratic voters in the gubernatorial race with 281 votes while Joyce Craig earned 133. Maggie Goodlander finished with 258 votes in the race for CD-2 Representative, Colin Van Ostern earned 183. In Executive Council District 2 Karen Liot Hill earned 217 votes, while Mike Liberty earned 199. Republican nominee Kelly Ayotte earned 211 votes in the gubernatorial race, while Chuck Morse earned 95. Vikram Mansharamani earned 112 votes in the race for CD-2 Representative, followed by nominee Lily Tang Williams with 63 and Bill Hamlen with 52. In Executive Council District 2, Kim Strathdee earned 117 votes, while Mary Rose Deak earned 94.
Fitzwilliam: Cinde Warmington beat out Joyce Craig in the Democratic race for governor by only 10 votes, earning 95 votes to Craig’s 85, respectively. Maggie Goodlander nearly doubled the amount of votes Colin van Ostern in the race for CD-2 Representative, 135-66 respectively. In Executive Council District 5, Melanie Levesque beat Shoshanna Kelly with 124 votes over Kelly’s 54. On the Republican ticket, Kelly Ayotte earned 132 votes in the gubernatorial race, while Chuck Morse followed with 106. For CD-2 Representative, Lily Tang Williams earned the most votes with 84, followed by Vikram Mansharamani with 63 and Bill Hamlen with 46. Incumbent Dave Wheeler was the ony candidate on the ballot for Executive Council in District 5.
Gilsum: Democratic voters favored Cinde Warmington for governor with 55 votes over Joyce Craig’s 28 and Jon Kiper’s 10. Maggie Goodlander more than doubled the amount of votes Colin van Ostern earned for CD-2 Representative, 66-29 respectively. Karen Liot Hill defeated Mike Liberty in the race for Executive Council District 2 with 62 votes over Liberty’s 31. Republican voters supported Kelly Ayotte for governor over Chuck Morse, earning 71 and 37 votes respectively. Vikram Mansharamani defeated Lily Tang Williams by one vote in the race for CD-2 Representive, earning 30 votes to Tang’s 29. For Executive Council in District 2, Kim Strathdee defeated Mary Rose Deak with 52 votes over Deak’s 30.
Harrisville: Cinde Warmington earned the support of Democratic voters in the gubernatorial race with 161 votes while Joyce Craig earned 112. Maggie Goodlander finished with 164 votes in the race for CD-2 Representative, Colin Van Ostern earned 120. In Executive Council District 2, Karen Liot Hill (161 votes) defeated Mike Liberty, who earned 104 votes. Republican nominee Kelly Ayotte earned 59 votes in the gubernatorial race, while Chuck Morse earned 20. Lily Tang Williams very narrowly defeated Vikram Mansharamani in the race for CD-2 Representative by one vote (Williams earned 26 and Mansharamani, 25). In Executive Council District 2, Kim Strathee earned 36 votes while Mary Rose Deak earned 25.
Hinsdale: Democratic voters favored Cinde Warmington for Governor with 113 votes over Joyce Craig’s 85 and Jon Kiper’s 13. Maggie Goodlander more than doubled the amount of votes Colin van Ostern earned for CD-2 Representative, 149-70 respectively. Mike Liberty defeated Karen Liot Hill in the race for Executive Council District 2 with 114 votes over Liot Hill’s 92. Republican voters threw their support behind Kelly Ayotte for Governor over Chuck Morse, earning 118 and 67 points respectively. Lily Tang Williams came out on top in the race for CD-2 Representative with 74 votes, followed by Vikram Mansharamani with 46. For Executive Councilor in District 2, Kim Strathdee defeated Mary Rose Deak with 97 votes over Deak’s 61.
Jaffrey: Joyce Craig won over Democratic voters in Jaffrey in the race for governor. She earned 304 votes over Cinde Warmington’s 178, and Jon Kiper’s 59. Meanwhile, Maggie Goodlander overwhelmingly defeated Colin Van Ostern with 318 votes v. his 168 in the race for CD-2 Representative. For the Executive Council, Jaffrey falls in District 5. Melanie Levesque earned 366 votes, while Shoshanna Kelly finished with 144. On the Republican ticket, voters overwhelmingly favored Kelly Ayotte for governor over nominee Chuck Morse with 318 over Morse’s 158. Lily Tang Williams earned 202 votes in the race for CD-2 Representative, followed by Vikram Mansharamani with 115. Incumbent Dave Wheeler was the only candidate on the ballot for Executive Council District 5. There was a race in the primary for Houses Representatives in Cheshire District 18. three candidates were running for two seats. Hannah Bissex earned 354 votes, Jed Brummer earned 234 and Tm Hsu earned 363. Bissex and Brummer will appear on the ballot in November, facing Republicans Rita Mattson and incumbent Jim Qualey, who ran unopposed in the GOP primary for the district’s two seats.
Keene: Keene Democrats turned out at the polls and supported Cinde Warmington for Governor with 1,696 votes, while nominee Joyce Craig earned 859. It was a bit closer in the race for CD-2 Representative. Nominee Maggie Goodlander earned 1,687 votes and Colin Van Ostern earned 1,066. Karen Liot Hill earned 1,573 votes for Executive Councilor in District 2, while Mile Liberty followed with 1,027. On the Republican ticket, Kelly Ayotte earned 691 votes in the gubernatorial race, while Chuck Morse followed with 280. For CD-2 Representative, Vikram Mansharamani earned 328 votes, followed by nominee Lily Tang Williams with 256. In the Executive C0uncil District 2 race, Kim Strathdee earned 364 votes, while Mary Rose Deak earned 322.
Marlborough: In the Democratic Primary in Marlborough voters supported Cinde Warmington with 155 votes, while nominee Joyce Craig earned 91, and Jon Kiper earned 19. Maggie Goodlander came out on top for CD-2 Representative with 162 votes while Colin van Ostern earned 103. For Executive Council District 2, Karen Liot Hill earned 158 votes, and Mike Liberty earned 96. Republican voters favored Kelly Ayotte with 101 votes, followed by Chuck Morse with 46 votes for Governor. Lily Tang Williams earned 52 votes in the race for Representative in CD-2, followed by Vikram Mansharamani with 40 and Bill Hamlen with 31. For Executive Councilor in District 2, Kim Strathdee earned 65 votes over Mary Rose Deak’s 44.
Marlow: On the Democratic ticket, Marlow voters supported Cinde Warmington for Governor over Joyce Craig, with 53 and 29 votes respectively. It was a close race for CD-2 Representative, but nominee Maggie Goodlander came out on top with 61 votes, while Colin Van Ostern earned 54. Mike Liberty got a win over Karen Liot Hill in the race for Executive Council District 2 with 26 votes to Liot Hill’s 23. Republican Gubernatorial nominee Kelly Ayotte earned 44 votes, followed by Chuck Morse with 26. For CD-2, Vikram Mansharamani and Lily Tang Williams both earned 19 votes. There was a tie in the Executive Council District 2 race as well in Marlow, with both Kim Strathdee and Mary Rose Deak each earning 26 votes.
Nelson: Democratic voters in Nelson threw their support behind Cinde Warmington for Governor with 85 votes over Joyce Craig’s 38 and Jon Kiper’s 6. Colin Van Ostern got a victory over nominee Maggie Goodlander with 74 and 54 votes respectively. Karen Liot Hill earned 76 votes for Executive Councilor in District 2, while Mike Liberty earned 47. Kelly Ayotte was overwhelmingly supported by voters in the Republican race for Governor, earning 49 points while Chuck Morse earned 21. Lily Tang Williams earned 29 votes in the race for CD-2 Representative, followed by Bill Hamlen with 18, and Vikram Mansharamani with 8. Kim Strathdee earned 32 votes in the race for Executive Councilor in District 2, while Mary Rose Deak earned 14.
Richmond: Democrats in Richmond supported Cinde Warmington for Governor with 66 votes over Joyce Craig’s 30 and Jon Kiper’s 12. For CD-2 Representative Maggie Goodlander came out on top with 74 votes while Colin Van Ostern earned 36. In Executive Council District 5, Melanie Levesque earned 65 votes, while Shoshanna Kelly earned 39. On the Republican ticket, Chuck Morse earned 117 votes in the race for Governor, while nominee Kelly Ayotte earned 61. For CD-2 Representative Lily Tang Williams had overwhelming support with 103 votes, followed Vikram Mansharamani with 31. Incumbent Dave Wheeler was the ony candidate on the ballot for Executive Council in District 5.
Rindge: Joyce Craig won over Democratic voters in Rindge in the race for Governor. she earned 217 votes over Cinde Warmington’s 172, and Jon Kiper’s 32. Meanwhile, Maggie Goodlander overwhelmingly defeated Colin Van Ostern with 318 votes vs. his 106 in the race for CD-2 Representative. For the Executive Council Rindge falls in District 5. Melanie Levesque earned 327 votes, while Shoshanna Kelly finished with 70. On the Republican ticket, voters favored Chuck Morse for Governor over nominee Kelly Ayotte with 355 votes over Ayotte’s 341. Lily Tang Williams earned 347 votes in the race for CD-2 Representative, followed by Vikram Mansharamani with 143. Incumbent Dave Wheeler was the only candidate on the ballot for Executive Council District 5. There was a race in the Republican Primary for House Representatives in Cheshire District 18. Three candidates were running for two seats. Hannah Bissex earned 318 votes, Jed Brummer earned 201, and Tom Hsu earned 175. Bissex and Brummer will appear on the ballot in November.
Stoddard: Cinde Warmington earned the support of voters in the Democratic Primary with 85 votes over Joyce Craig’s 59 and Jon Kiper’s 11. For CD-2 Representative, Maggie Goodlander earned 93 points and Colin Van Ostern earned 61. In the race for Executive Council District 5, Melanie Levesque earned 78 votes, over Shoshanna Kelly who earned 65. On the Republican ticket, Kelly Ayotte came out on top with 102 votes over Chuck Morse who earned 63. Lily Tang Williams earned 55 votes in the race for Representative in CD-2, followed by Vikram Mansharamani with 44, and Bill Hamlen with 34. Incumbent Dave Wheeler was the only candidate on the ballot for Executive Council District 5.
Sullivan: In the Democratic Primary in Sullivan voters favored Cinde Warmington for Governor. She earned 56 votes, Joyce Craig earned 17, and Jon Kiper earned 10. Maggie Goodlander earned the support of voters in Sullivan with 55 votes while Colin Van Ostern earned 29. For Executive Councilor in District 2 Karen Liot Hill defeated Mike Liberty 48-34. Republican voters supported Kelly Ayotte for Governor with 55 votes over Chuck Morse’s 25. For CD-2 Representative Vikram Mansharamani earned the support of the majority of Sullivan voters with 20 votes, followed by Bill Hamlen, who earned 14. The candidates for Executive Councilor District 2, Kim Strathdee and Mary Rose Deak, tied with 28 votes a piece.
Surry: Democratic voters in Surry threw their support behind Cinde Warmington in the gubernatorial race with 84 votes. Joyce Craig earned 11 and Jon Kiper earned 3. It was a closer race for CD-2 but Maggie Goodlander came out on top with 59 votes over Colin Van Ostern’s 41. Karen Liot Hill earned 58 votes in the race for District 2 Executive Councilor, while Mike Liberty earned 32. On the Republican ticket in Surry, Kelly Ayotte narrowly defeated Chuck Morse 48-36 for Governor, and in the race for the CD-2 nomination Vikram Mansharamani earned 23 votes, followed closely by Lily Tang Williams with 17. For District 2 Executive Councilor Kim Strathdee defeated Mary Rose Deak with 47 votes and 20 votes respectively.
Swanzey: Cinde Warmington narrowly defeated Joyce Craig in Swanzey in the race for the Democratic nomination for Governer with 275 votes to Craig’s 243. Maggie Goodlander had an overwhelming victory in the race for CD-2 representative with 377 votes, Colin Van Ostern earned 192. Swanzey falls in District 5 for the Executive Council. Melanie Levesque earned 280 votes in that race, defeating Shoshanna Kelly who earned 216. On the Republican ticket, Swanzey voters favored Kelly Ayotte for Governor with 382 votes while Chuck Morse earned 220. In the race for CD-2 Representative Vikram Mansharamani earned 207 votes, followed by Lily Tang Williams with 140, and Bill Hamlen with 138. Incumbent Dave Wheeler was the only candidate on the ticket for Executive Council District 5.
Troy: Democratic voters in Troy were narrowly split on their choice for Governor. Cinde Warmington earned 56 votes over Joyce Craig’s 51. Jon Kiper finished with 13. In the race for CD-2 Representative Maggie Goodlander was favored with 85 votes while Colin Van Ostern finished with 40. Like Swanzey, Troy falls in District 5 for the Executive Council. Melanie Levesque earned 61 votes, Shoshanna Kelly earned 52. In the Republican primary, Troy voters overwhelmingly supported Kelly Ayotte for Governor with 104 votes while Chuck Morse earned 74. In the race for CD-2 Representative Lily Tang Williams beat Bill Hamlen by one vote, 46-45, followed closely by Vikram Mansharamani with 40. Incumbent Dave Wheeler was the only candidate on the Republican ticket for Executive Council District 5.
Walpole: Democrats overwhelmingly supported Cinde Warmington for Governor with 334 votes over nominee Joyce Craig’s 165 and Jon Kiper’s 38. CD-2 Representative nominee Maggie Goodlander earned 340 votes while Colin Van Ostern finished with 203. For Executive Council District 2, Karen Liot Hill earned 325 votes, and Mike Liberty earned 190. Kelly Ayotte earned overwhelming support in the Republican Primary for Governor as well. She finished with 203 votes, while Chuck Morse earned 77. Vikram Mansharamani earned 86 votes in the race for CD-2 Representative, followed by Lily Tang Williams with 61 votes, and Bill Hamlen with 44. It was a close race for Executive Councilor in District 2, with Kim Strathdee earning 105 votes and Mary Rose Deak with 102.
Westmoreland: On the Democratic ticket, voters favored Cinde Warmington for Governor over nominee Joyce Craig with 138 and 78 votes respectively. CD-2 Representative nominee Maggie Goodlander came out on top with 150 votes over Colin Van Ostern who earned 94. Karen Liot Hill earned 131 votes in the race for district 2 Executive Councilor, while Mike Liberty earned 98. Republican voters favored gubernatorial nominee Kelly Ayotte with 108 votes while Chuck Morse earned 46. For CD-2 Representative Vikram Mansharamani narrowly defeated nominee Lily Tang Williams 37-36. For District 2 Executive councilor, Kim Strathdee earned 66 votes, while Mary Rose Deak earned 48.
Winchester: In the Democratic Primary voters in Winchester overwhelmingly supported Cinde Warmington in the race for Governor, who earned 158 votes to Joyce Craig’s 81 and Jon Kiper’s 26. In the race for CD-2 voters favored Maggie Goodlander over Colin Van Ostern 153-123 respectively. For District 2 Executive Councilor Karen Liot-Hill earned 149 votes, over Mike Liberty’s 103 in Winchester. Republican voters threw their support behind Kelly Ayotte in the gubernatorial race with 154 votes, Chuck Morse earned 120. For CD-2 Representative Lily Tang Williams had an overwhelming victory in Winchester with 164 votes, she was followed by Vikram Mansharamani with 41. For District 2 Executive Councilor Mary Rose Deak earned 111 votes, over Kim Strathdee’s 90.
