SULLIVAN, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) New Hampshire State Trooper narrowly avoided serious injury after her cruiser rolled over while pursuing a speeding vehicle early Friday morning, according to police reports.

Trooper Margaret Carey was responding to a reckless driving complaint issued by the Keene Police Department when the incident occurred. At approximately 1 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, Carey spotted a vehicle speeding westbound on Route 9 in Sullivan. Acting quickly, she activated her cruiser’s emergency lights and siren, attempting to intercept the driver.

However, while navigating a curve near Centre Street in Sullivan, Carey lost control of her vehicle, which rolled over in the process. Despite the dramatic accident, Carey sustained only minor injuries and managed to exit the cruiser on her own. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Keene Police officers later located the suspect vehicle and initiated a pursuit after the driver refused to stop. The chase ended when the vehicle crashed in Keene, and the driver was taken into custody.

For further details on the driver’s arrest, authorities are directing inquiries to the Keene Police Department.
