KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – Students in the Monadnock Region head back to school on next week.
According to SAU 29’s website, school resumes for all districts on Tuesday, August 27th. Preschool at Jonathan Daniels and in Marlborough will begin after Labor Day on September 3rd, along with Kindergarten in both Keene and Chesterfield. Marlow preschool and kindergarten begins September 9th.
Keene High School and Keene Middle School get under session at 8:40 and 8:50 respectively, while elementary schools in Keene, Chesterfield, Harrisville, Marlborough, Marlow, Nelson, and Westmoreland all get underway between 7:55 and 8:05 am.
Students in the Monadnock Regional School District will all return to school on August 27th as well following a soft opening this week.
The bell rings for students at Monadnock Regional Middle/High School at 7:30, while across the street at Mt. Caesar elementary school, school begins at 8:25. School begins at 8:30 at Cutler (Swanzey), Emerson (Fitzwilliam), Gilsum, and Troy Elementary schools.
That means kids will be standing out at their bus stops early in the morning or walking back home in the afternoon so drivers should be alert and use caution.
New Hampshire law requires drivers to stop at least 25 feet away from a school bus that is stopped to either pick up or drop students off, and drivers cannot begin moving again until the bus does, or the red flashing lights have turned off.
