KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – Drivers may want to consider avoiding lower Winchester Street on Monday as crews perform survey work in the area.

In a notice earlier this week the Keene Public Works Department said that McFarland Johnson and their sub consultant GM2 will be working on Winchester Street from the Route 101 roundabout to the Swanzey town line.

The work will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday. Traffic lanes will be shifted and may need to be temporarily closed to perform the work safely. The work is anticipated to be completed by the end of the day on Tuesday.

The survey work is in preparation for the Lower Winchester Street reconstruction project, which is currently in the design phase and still a ways off from breaking ground.

Drivers should be alert for changing traffic patterns, be patient, and obey all traffic control personnel on-site.
