CONCORD, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) A Swanzey man has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for stealing nearly 20 guns from a licensed firearms dealer in Winchester, officials from the U.S. Department of Justice announced Tuesday.

Khale Guillou, 20, was sentenced to serve a year and a half in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release. He had pleaded guilty in March to one count of theft of firearms from a federal firearms licensee, according to a news release.

The charges stem from a break-in on the night of July 6, 2024, when, as outlined in court records, Guillou broke into Trader John’s Gun Shop and stole 17 handguns and one rifle. Nine days later, Guillou’s car was involved in a shooting in Tewksbury, MA. Authorities recovered three of Trader John’s stolen firearms from the trunk of Guillou’s car and spent shell casings from inside the vehicle. Three more stolen firearms were found at his home, two of which were also taken from Trader John’s Gun Shop.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, with support from the Keene, Swanzey, Winchester, and Tewksbury Police Departments.

According to the release, the effort is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.
