KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – Three people were seriously injured in a crash on Route 9 in Spofford Saturday morning.
Saturday’s crash is the third on Route 9 in Spofford in about two weeks. Officers responded to the crash near Thomas Construction around 7:50 Saturday morning where a silver Jeep Grand Wagoneer was found about 500 feet off the roadway in the woods, according to Chesterfield Police.
Two of the three occupants were trapped inside the vehicle and assisted out by medical personnel. The occupants were identified as Timothy McManus, 36, and Zuleyka McManus, 37, both of Newbury New Hampshire, and a juvenile male. All three were taken to Cheshire Medical Center with serious injuries.
Police didn’t say who was the driver, but a preliminary investigation indicated that the jeep was traveling east on Route 9 and struck a sign before going airborne for about 47 feet and landing in a field, coming to a final rest in a small stream, about 500 feet off the roadway.
What caused the vehicle to swerve remains under investigation.
Chesterfield Police were assisted on scene by New Hampshire State Police, the Chesterfield, Spofford, and Keene Fire Departments, and Rescue Inc.
Anyone who witnessed the crash should contact Chesterfield’s Acting Chief Lance Rouse at 603-363-4233 ex. 62 or at LRouse@pd.chesterfield.gov.
