(MyKeeneNow) – Residents of Chesterfield, Spofford, Keene, and Antrim should be aware of potential traffic delays tomorrow, Friday, August 16th, as the New England Run for the Fallen makes its way through these towns. The event, which pays tribute to fallen military service members and first responders, will see participants running through various routes in the area.

In Chesterfield, the run is expected to take place late in the morning and into the early afternoon. The route will follow Route 9, intersect with Route 101, and then turn left up Main Street to Washington Street before looping back to Route 9. Motorists are advised to anticipate a police presence and minor delays as the runners proceed.

The New England Run for the Fallen is part of a larger effort to perpetually recognize the sacrifices of America’s fallen military service members and their families. The event honors those who have died in active duty and those whose deaths were a result of their service. The tribute extends to all military deaths across all wars and branches of service since the nation’s inception.

A key symbol of this recognition is the Honor and Remember Flag, a dedicated symbol created by the organizing group to serve as a continuous reminder of the lives lost in defense of national freedoms.

This year marks the 4th Annual New England Run for the Fallen. The first day of the event covers 59 miles, from Cushman Park in Bernardston, Massachusetts, to Antrim, New Hampshire. Those interested can watch the live stream of the event on Facebook and follow the runners in real-time via GPS  through the Run for the Fallen page.

The event is hosted by HonorandRemember.org, which continues to advocate for the remembrance of all fallen service members.
