KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – Local residents and commuters should brace for traffic delays on August 21 and 25 as Keene State College welcomes students back to campus.

The college’s annual move-in days are set to take place on Wednesday, Aug. 21, for incoming first-year students, and Sunday, Aug. 25, for returning students. Both days are expected to bring a significant increase in traffic around the college, particularly on key routes such as Winchester Street and Main Street.

Winchester Street, especially the stretch between the roundabout at Main, Marlboro, and Winchester streets to Winchester Court, is anticipated to see heavy congestion. Main Street, from the intersection with Route 101 to Wyman Way, is also likely to experience slowdowns.

Move-in activities are scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days. Local authorities and the Keene State College Department of Campus Safety are advising motorists to seek alternate routes during these hours to avoid being caught in the congestion.

Classes at Keene State College will commence on Monday, Aug. 26.
