BRATTLEBORO, VT (MyKeeneNow) A lengthy narcotics investigation centered on a Fairgrounds Road residence has resulted in the arrests of two men accused of distributing fentanyl and cocaine in the Brattleboro area, according to authorities.
Members of the Vermont Drug Task Force, working alongside the Brattleboro Police Department, took 33-year-old Justin Nation of East Hartford, Connecticut, and 63-year-old Mark Kriskov of Brattleboro into custody on Feb. 23. The arrests followed what investigators described as a months-long probe into suspected drug activity at an apartment located at 32 Fairgrounds Road.
Detectives allege the residence was being used as a hub for drug distribution. As part of the investigation, confidential informants reportedly conducted multiple controlled purchases of cocaine — four from Kriskov and one from Nation.
Searches carried out at the apartment uncovered significant quantities of suspected narcotics and related evidence. Authorities say they seized approximately 885 bags of suspected fentanyl weighing about 22 grams, along with 111 grams of crack cocaine. Investigators also recovered a firearm and materials they believe were used in the production of cocaine base.
Nation was allegedly found carrying cash and several grams of crack cocaine at the time of his arrest. Officials said additional firearms tied to Nation were later located at his residence in Hartford with assistance from Connecticut law enforcement.
Both men now face numerous charges related to drug distribution and trafficking. Kriskov is accused of multiple counts involving the sale of cocaine, as well as operating what investigators describe as a drug-involved premises and distributing narcotics near school property.
Nation faces a broader list of alleged offenses, including trafficking fentanyl into Vermont, unlawful manufacturing, possession of cocaine and fentanyl, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Nation was held at the Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield following his arrest, with bail set at $50,000. He appeared in Windham County court on Feb. 23.
Kriskov was issued a citation and is scheduled to appear in court on April 21.
The Windham County State’s Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the cases. Authorities say additional details, including affidavits of probable cause, are expected to become public following court proceedings.
