ACWORTH, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) A fierce house fire on Connecticut Heights Road late Sunday night left two residents injured and drew a multi-agency emergency response, officials said.

Firefighters were first dispatched around 9:50 p.m. to the remote property, where they encountered difficult access and a fully-involved blaze. The fire, which reached a second alarm, brought assistance from multiple departments as crews worked to contain the flames in bitterly cold conditions.

Two individuals who had been inside the home managed to escape to a neighbor’s house, authorities said. One suffered burns and was airlifted to a hospital, while the other was treated for smoke inhalation and transported by ambulance. Their current conditions were not immediately available.

Firefighters established a water supply under challenging circumstances, battling temperatures that dropped to zero degrees.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though officials have not indicated any signs of suspicious activity. The home was declared a total loss.
