FITZWILLIAM, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) A serious crash on Route 12 South in Fitzwilliam Thursday afternoon left two people injured, one of whom had to be airlifted for medical treatment, according to fire officials.
Emergency crews responded to the single-vehicle crash around 1:40 p.m. after a passerby reported a car had struck a utility pole and overturned. Upon arrival, responders found one occupant trapped inside the heavily damaged vehicle, while the other had managed to get out on their own.
Fire officials confirmed that extrication efforts were required to free the trapped individual. A medical helicopter was called to transport one patient, while the second was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Their conditions were not immediately available.
Eversource arrived on the scene shortly after 2:30 p.m. to address damage to the utility pole. The crash temporarily shut down traffic in both directions, but the roadway was reopened by 2:40 p.m.
