STODDARD, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) State police say speed played a role in a rollover crash in Stoddard on Tuesday morning that sent a local woman to the hospital.

Troopers identified the driver as 26-year-old Rachel Huber of Stoddard. According to investigators, Huber was driving a 2016 Subaru Forester when she failed to negotiate a curve on Route 123 southbound near the Route 9 intersection. The vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree, and rolled several times.

Huber was treated for minor injuries at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene. She was issued a summons for negligent driving. Troopers Troy Couillard and Andrew Vautrin, both from the Troop C barracks, responded to the scene with assistance from the Stoddard Fire Department and Cheshire County EMS.

Authorities are asking anyone with additional information to contact Trooper Couillard at Troy.J.Couillard@dos.nh.gov.

The crash was first reported around 8:13 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26. Earlier that morning, Stoddard firefighters said the Subaru had come to rest in a resident’s yard with heavy damage along its side. Passing motorists helped Huber from the vehicle before emergency crews arrived.

Firefighters and EMS provided treatment at the scene before transporting her by ambulance to the hospital. A DHART medical helicopter was initially called but later canceled when ground transport was deemed sufficient.

Stoddard Fire Chief Steve Rockwell credited bystanders for assisting the driver and thanked all agencies that responded, including Cheshire County EMS and New Hampshire State Police.
