KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) WKBK News Radio has brought a new voice to its morning lineup with the September hire of John Depin, a recent journalism graduate stepping into his first professional newsroom role. Depin now anchors the station’s morning drive-time newscasts, delivering live updates on local, regional, and national headlines, as well as weather, traffic, and breaking developments to help listeners start their day informed.

Depin, a 2025 graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst Journalism School, comes to Keene with a strong background in reporting and editorial leadership. At UMass Amherst, he worked as a writer and later Managing Editor for The Massachusetts Daily Collegian, the university’s student-run newspaper.

Joining Monadnock Media Group in September, Depin said he’s excited to launch his career in the region’s most prominent radio newsroom and to take on the challenge of broadcasting—an area that’s new to him.

Originally from Dennis on Cape Cod, Depin spent several years working at Dennis Public Market as a deli clerk and wholesale delivery driver before pursuing journalism full-time. He jokes that he’s happy to be leaving the days of maneuvering oversized refrigerated vans behind.

Depin can be heard weekday mornings on WKBK AM 1290 and 94.1 FM.
