Police in Milford, NH, are investigating a suspicious death after a man was found shot outside Dollar General on Wilton Road. Authorities are asking for public assistance from anyone who was in the area around 8:26 p.m. on November 7, when multiple gunshots were reported.

A massive fire engulfed the long-abandoned Sportsman’s Lounge on Canal Street early Thursday morning, cutting power and communication services for thousands of residents in Brattleboro and nearby towns. The cause of the blaze, which fully destroyed the building slated for demolition, remains under investigation by the state fire marshal’s office.

Christine Allen, former executive director of Keene-based Monadnock Peer Support (MPS), faces federal charges for allegedly embezzling nearly $200,000 from the mental health nonprofit. The indictment claims Allen, 50, misused MPS funds between 2021 and 2023 for personal expenses, including Amazon orders, home renovations, and recreational equipment. Charged with four counts of wire fraud, Allen could face up to 20 years in prison per count if convicted. The investigation was conducted by the FBI and IRS.

KEENE, NH – The Hannah Grimes Center for Entrepreneurship, a nonprofit dedicated to rural economic development, has named Julianna Dodson as its new Executive Director following the departure of founder Mary Ann Kristiansen. Dodson, who currently leads the Radically Rural program and serves as Deputy Executive Director, is credited with shaping HGC since its founding in 2006, leaves a legacy of community support for entrepreneurs in the Monadnock Region.
