BRATTLEBORO, VT (MyKeeneNow) A crash on Putney Road Monday evening left part of town in the dark and sent one person to the hospital with injuries.

Around 8 p.m., emergency crews were called to the scene near 190 Putney Road, where a car had slammed into a utility pole. The impact caused significant damage to the pole, leading to a power outage in the area, according to Brattleboro police.

When officers arrived, they found the car still in the roadway. The driver, whose name has not been released, was taken to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The accident prompted a response from multiple agencies. The Brattleboro Fire Department, Public Works crews, and Green Mountain Power workers all responded to the scene. Putney Road was closed between Harris Avenue and Bradley Avenue for several hours while crews worked to replace the damaged pole and restore power.

Police say the investigation is ongoing. No charges have been announced.
