BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (MyKeeneNow) — Police in Brattleboro are investigating two separate shooting incidents that occurred within days of each other on Chestnut Street, prompting authorities to ask for the public’s assistance.

According to a press release issued Wednesday, officers first responded to a report of gunfire on Saturday at approximately 4:38 a.m. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered several shell casings in the roadway. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

A second shooting was reported in the same area just three days later. On Tuesday at approximately 7:34 p.m., officers were again dispatched to Chestnut Street for reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, police located additional shell casings. As with the earlier incident, no injuries were reported.

Investigators believe the two incidents may be connected and are actively working to gather more information. Police have identified a dark-colored vehicle as a vehicle of interest in the case and have released images in hopes that members of the public can help identify it.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about either shooting, or who may recognize the vehicle, to come forward.
