MONADNOCK REGION, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Despite a rainy forecast, communities across the Monadnock Region have scheduled Memorial Day celebrations this long weekend.

Keene’s Memorial Day parade is scheduled for Monday at 10 a.m., beginning on Gilbo Avenue and proceeding north on Main Street before turning onto Washington Street and ending at the Recreation Center. A ceremony will immediately follow. Parking restrictions will be in effect on both sides of Washington Street from Central Square to Washington Avenue from 9 a.m. to noon.

In Swanzey, the parade begins at 2 p.m. on Monday, heading south from South Winchester Street to the Denman Thompson Bridge for the first ceremony, continuing to the cemetery, and ending with a service and wreath-laying at the Community Church of West Swanzey.

In Marlborough, Sunday’s observance begins with a noon service at Pine Grove Cemetery. A parade will follow at 2 p.m., stepping off from Bell Tower Park on Terrace Street, traveling along Main Street to Water Street, and ending at the Veterans’ Memorial at the Marlborough School on Fitch Court. Attendees are encouraged to park in the municipal lot or at the school.

In Rindge, a detailed and historic tribute is planned for Monday beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Rindge Memorial School with honors for World War II veterans. The parade assembles at 1:45 p.m. on Payson Hill Road and steps off at 2 p.m., stopping at several monuments for tributes, including at Goddard Road Cemetery, Rindge Center Common, Rindge Meeting House, and Church Side Cemetery, before concluding with a full ceremony at Veterans’ Memorial Park. Additionally, the Cathedral of the Pines will hold its annual Memorial Day service on Friday, May 30, from 10 to 11 a.m.

Jaffrey will start its day of remembrance early Monday with cemetery visits at 7:30 a.m., followed by a parade at 10:45 a.m. from the Blake Street parking lot to the Buddy Monument Common, where a flag will be raised at noon.

In Dublin, the parade will step off at 11:15 a.m. Monday from the Yankee Publishing parking lot, stopping at the cemetery for a brief service and continuing to the flagpole for a concluding ceremony.

Hinsdale and Troy will also mark the day with morning parades: Hinsdale’s begins at 10 a.m. from Pine Grove Cemetery on Depot Street and proceeds down Main Street, while Troy’s starts at 10:30 a.m. from Troy Elementary School and ends at the town common.
