MONADNOCK REGION, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Motorists traveling through the Monadnock Region this summer and beyond should prepare for extended road work zones as multiple long-term construction projects are now underway across the area.
Four of the New Hampshire Department of Transportation’s major pavement resurfacing efforts have begun and are expected to continue through late September 2026. The impacted highways span several towns and include:
-
Route 12 in Fitzwilliam: From the Massachusetts state line to just north of the town center.
-
Route 10 in Winchester: From the Massachusetts state line to just north of Forest Lake Road.
-
Route 12 in Troy and Swanzey: From Old Whitcomb Road to Birch Road.
-
Route 9 in Sullivan and Stoddard: From Center Street to Granite Lake Road.
Each resurfacing project is aimed at improving driving conditions on these high-traffic corridors but will bring intermittent delays and lane restrictions over the next year.
Separately, in Acworth, a culvert replacement project is underway on Route 123A, between Gates Mountain Road and Rick Road. That work began in early May and is scheduled to be completed by Aug. 15. Details about the Acworth project are available on the NHDOT project center website.
Drivers are urged to use caution and pay attention to construction signs and flaggers while work is ongoing.
