WASHINGTON, D.C. (MyKeeneNow) U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen has announced more than $14.7 million in federal funding for critical New Hampshire projects as part of the fiscal year 2026 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations bill. Among the projects receiving support are several based in the Monadnock Region.

“As ranking member of the Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration and Related Agencies Subcommittee, I’m proud to deliver this bipartisan bill that will help address the high costs that so many Americans are facing and invest in rural communities across the nation,” Shaheen said in a news release. “The resources we secured will help support our efforts to tackle housing, food and energy costs, ensure New Hampshire’s farmers have the support they need, invest in the outdoor recreation economy, protect public health and more. I’m proud to have shaped this legislation in a way that benefits the Granite State and all of America.”

Among the Congressionally Directed Spending projects in the bill:

  • The Town of Walpole will receive $2.58 million through the Rural Community Facilities Program to support the Walpole Police Station.

  • The Walpole Foundation will receive support for the Walpole Village School, also through the Rural Community Facilities Program.

  • The Town of Hancock is awarded $600,000 for the Hancock Fire Station Renovation Project.

  • Franklin Pierce University in Rindge will receive $1 million to renovate and upgrade its Health Sciences Facilities.

These investments are part of broader statewide efforts secured by Shaheen to support rural infrastructure, improve access to food assistance, promote energy efficiency, protect public health, and strengthen agricultural resources.
