KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Residents will have a chance to get an up-close look at city vehicles, meet staff, and enjoy free food during Keene’s upcoming Community Night on Tuesday, Aug. 19.
The event, scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. outside the Keene Police Department and Public Works facility at 350 Marlboro St., will include a “Touch-a-Truck” showcase featuring fire engines, police cruisers, snowplows, tractors and other heavy equipment. Families can climb aboard, sound the sirens and learn how the vehicles are used in city operations.
Along with the vehicles, the evening will feature free hot dogs, burgers and ice cream, children’s games and a contest to name one of Keene’s snowplows. City staff from multiple departments will be on hand to answer questions, explain services, and share updates on ongoing projects.
Parking will be available at the Connection lot near the fire department entrance, with staff on site to direct vehicles. The city noted the event is made possible with support from C&S Wholesale Grocers.
Community Night is designed to give residents an informal way to connect with city departments outside of City Hall.
