KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) New Hampshire’s own Juston McKinney was Thursday’s guest on Good Morning with Dan Mitchell on WKBK, chatting about his busy year on the road, his family life, and what fans can expect when he takes the stage at The Colonial Theatre in Keene this month.
McKinney, a former York (Maine) County sheriff’s deputy turned nationally known stand-up comedian, said he’s been traveling more this year than in the past decade, performing in places like Montreal, Toronto, Atlantic City, Michigan, and Florida. The comic joked that air travel has become such a hassle that even a drive home from Gillette Stadium feels easier.
He also shared a personal story about taking his teenage son—an unapologetic Kansas City Chiefs fan—to Arrowhead Stadium for a game this fall. The quick father-son trip, he said, was a logistical adventure filled with delayed flights and hotel hiccups.
Despite all the miles logged, McKinney said he’s slowing down through the end of the year after recently filming a new stand-up special in Manchester that’s expected to premiere in 2026. His previous specials, “Parentally Challenged” and “On the Bright Side,” are available to stream on Amazon and YouTube, the latter having garnered more than 1.3 million views.
Known for his sharp wit and observations about New England life and the quirks of “Live Free or Die” culture—McKinney’s material often hits close to home for local audiences. He said fans attending his Colonial Theatre performance will see mostly new material, but he’s always happy to take a few “requests” from longtime followers.
Tickets for Juston McKinney’s 8 p.m. show on Saturday, Nov. 15, are available through The Colonial Theatre’s official website at thecolonial.org.
