MANCHESTER, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Granite United Way has announced the latest round of funding through its Opioid Abatement Community Grant Program, distributing more than $650,000 to dozens of organizations across New Hampshire — including two initiatives serving families and youth in the Monadnock Region.

In total, 45 groups were selected from a competitive pool of 68 applicants during the program’s second responsive grant cycle. The funding supports a wide range of efforts aimed at addressing the ongoing impacts of opioid use disorder through prevention, treatment, recovery services, harm reduction, and broader community support systems.

Among the local recipients are the Keene Housing Kids Collaborative and Rise for Baby and Family, both of which will use the funding to strengthen programs focused on children and families.

Statewide, the latest round of grants also includes support for organizations such as New Hampshire Catholic Charities, the New Hampshire Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors Association, and the New Hampshire Afterschool Network.

The Opioid Abatement Community Grant Program is funded through national opioid settlement agreements and is administered by Granite United Way on behalf of the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services and the state’s Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission.

Overall, the initiative will invest $10 million in settlement funds over two years to support community-based strategies that reduce harm and expand access to services for individuals and families affected by substance use disorder across the state.
