KEENE, N.H. – (MyKeeneNow) A Keene man has been arrested on multiple felony charges related to an online relationship with a minor.
Harrison S. Chambers, 36, was apprehended earlier today, June 14, by members of the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, according to a news release. The arrest, which involved detectives from the New Hampshire State Police and the Keene Police Department, followed an investigation that began in May.
The investigation was initiated after a report to the state police alleged that an unidentified man had been using the social media app Snapchat to engage in illegal contact with a minor. Detectives from Troop C identified Chambers as the suspect during the course of their inquiry.
Chambers is facing several serious charges, including felony indecent exposure for sending lewd images to a minor, prohibited use of computer services, endangering the welfare of a child, possession of child sexual abuse material, and failure to comply with sex offender requirements. He is currently held on preventative detention and is scheduled for arraignment in Keene District Court on Monday, June 17.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed pending the forensic analysis of digital evidence seized during the operation.
Authorities are concerned that Chambers may have used social media to communicate with and potentially meet other minors. They urge anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact Detective Edward Horton at 931-0660 or Edward.J.Horton@dos.nh.gov.
