KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – Join the Keene Conservation Commission and the Keene Parks and Recreation Department for a delightful summer walk in the scenic Greater Goose Pond Forest on Sunday, August 11, starting at 8:30 a.m. Discover the beauty of the forest’s lesser-known hiking trails under the guidance of Conservation Commission member Tom Haynes. He will be accompanied by local naturalist and educator Eloise Clark, who will provide insights into the forest’s unique ecology.
This walk is moderately challenging, covering approximately 2 miles with some uphill and downhill sections. Participants will meet at the North Trailhead on East Surry Road. This event is part of the “Goose Pond Through the Seasons” series, offering opportunities to explore the forest throughout the year.
Be sure to bring your sense of adventure, as well as suitable footwear, clothing, water, snacks, and insect repellent for a comfortable and enjoyable experience in the woods.
