KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) — Residents and Robin Hood Park users will have an opportunity Tuesday to weigh in on proposed improvements to the park as the City of Keene continues planning the second phase of its renovation project.

The Parks & Recreation Department, Robin Hood Park Steering Committee and CHA Solutions will host a community feedback session from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 15 in the Multipurpose Room at the Keene Parks & Recreation Center.

The meeting will provide an update on the Phase II park space renovation plans and give residents a chance to comment on the proposed changes before the project moves further through the planning process.

Plans currently under consideration call for a range of improvements throughout the park, including new inclusive playground equipment, additional parking and a multi-sport court. The project also envisions a new program building with public restrooms and upgrades to the existing pavilion, including additional gathering space.

Other proposed features include an accessible fishing dock and a nature play trail, along with additional improvements to the park.

The renovation is being divided into phases. Phase I, which is focused on improvements to the Robin Hood Park pool, is currently out to bid through the city’s Purchasing Office.

City officials are encouraging people who use the park — as well as residents and others interested in its future — to attend Tuesday’s session and offer their suggestions.

The feedback is intended to help the project team determine which features and improvements are most important to the community as design and planning continue.
