(MyKeeneNow) – Dan Mitchell of WKBK Radio sat down with Julianna Dodson, director of Radically Rural, to discuss the upcoming summit in downtown Keene opening tomorrow, Sept. 24, through Thursday, Sept. 26.
The theme of this year’s summit, in its seventh year, is “Regenerating Rural,” and will guide conversations focused on revitalizing rural communities.
One of the event’s key moments will be a keynote panel titled “Regenerating Rural by Reweaving Our Frayed Social Fabric,” which will examine the roots of civic decline in America and highlight how rural “weavers” are reconnecting their communities. Attendees will also have the chance to view the documentary “Join or Die,” which explores similar topics.
Co-hosted by The Keene Sentinel and the Hannah Grimes Center for Entrepreneurship, Radically Rural offers sessions across seven focus areas: arts and culture, clean energy, downtown revitalization, entrepreneurship, land use, health care, and community journalism. Each track will feature local, regional, and national experts who will share strategies for reinvigorating rural areas.
