WINCHESTER, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – The 28th annual Winchester Pickle Festival returns to Main Street this Saturday, September 26, bringing thousands of visitors to town for a full day of food, entertainment and all things pickles.

The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is a free-admission, rain-or-shine event. Organizers say the festival typically draws more than 5,000 people from across the region and beyond.

The day begins with the traditional Pickle Parade, with activities continuing throughout the festival grounds. Visitors can take part in the pickle eating competition, check out the annual canning contest, and browse food and local vendors. Live music and other entertainment, along with a bounce house, will also be available during the event.

Free parking will be available at Winchester School on Parker Street, with a shuttle running throughout the day. Paid parking will also be available at the VFW and the ELM Memorial Community Center for a suggested $5 donation. Handicap parking is available at Town Hall. Parker Street will be closed between Main Street and Union Street during the festival.

The festival is held on Main Street in downtown Winchester. Organizers encourage visitors to carpool when possible and note that pets should be leashed or kept in carriers, although they recommend leaving pets at home because of the large crowds.

With its combination of local vendors, food, music, competitions and plenty of pickle-themed activities, the Winchester Pickle Festival is once again expected to bring a large crowd to the Monadnock Region for the first weekend of fall.
