MARLOW, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) A young man from Goffstown was seriously injured while riding an ATV on the south Marlow trails Saturday.
The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m., according to a news release from the N.H. Fish and Game Department.
The rider, identified as 19-year-old Tyler Holyoke, was navigating the trails with family members when he encountered a steep section. While attempting to descend, Holyoke struck a stump, causing the ATV to flip over. Although he managed to avoid being pinned by the vehicle, he fell onto a rock, sustaining severe injuries.
Despite his condition, Holyoke was able to ride his ATV to the trailhead, where he was initially treated before being transported to an urgent care facility in Manchester. From there, he was taken by ambulance to the Elliot Hospital for further medical care. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Following the incident, officials from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department emphasized the importance of caution when operating ATVs. They urged riders to stay within their skill limits and wear proper safety equipment at all times.
