KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Listeners of WKBK’s “What’s Cooking with Luca Paris” got a taste of what’s to come at Otto’s Food and Drink yesterday, as owner Kaycie Meyerrose and her 10-year-old son Otto joined the show to discuss their upcoming restaurant opening at 9-11 Court Street.
Set to open next weekend, Otto’s Food and Drink is a family-driven venture that Kaycie and her husband, Kyle, have been developing with inspiration from their son, Otto. The restaurant, named after him, will initially be open from 5 to 10 p.m., with plans to add lunch and brunch service in the future.
During the show, Kaycie described Otto’s as a welcoming space for diners to relax and enjoy carefully-crafted dishes. The menu will feature standout offerings such as Jäger schnitzel—a German-style chicken cutlet with mushroom gravy—beef and mushroom hand pies, petite tender steak, and a crispy potato pavé. Fresh oysters, sourced based on availability, will rotate regularly. The cocktail menu promises unique options, including a Pisco Punch and a bourbon-Benedictine concoction.
Otto himself has played an active role in preparing for the restaurant’s opening, even setting up for a recent family tasting by meticulously arranging tables and place settings. He plans to be a presence in the restaurant, greeting customers and ensuring a great dining experience.
The conversation with Luca Paris was lively and lighthearted, with Otto demonstrating an impressive enthusiasm for food, from oysters to fish and chips. Paris, a chef and restaurateur himself, praised the concept and highlighted the importance of family involvement in the hospitality industry. Meyerrose served as general manager of and a managing partner of that restaurant, now under new ownership.
Otto’s Food and Drink will open in a space formerly occupied by Machina Kitchen & Artbar, bringing new energy to the location with a focus on high-quality ingredients and an inviting atmosphere.
