MONADNOCK REGION, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) The Monadnock United Way launched its “Our Monadnock, Our Impact” campaign in the middle of September with a goal of raising $1,519,000 after the 2024 campaign season saw the organization end with $1,323,942 in donations. The 2025 campaign ends on Dec. 31, and MUW President Liz LaRose says that they’re making a last push to reach the original donation goal, and that it’s not too far away.
“The campaign is going really well, we will be hitting $1.19 million [Tuesday], which is just about 78 percent of goal,” LaRose said. She also said that people write checks to the foundation up until the last day of the campaign, and that checks can arrive after New Year’s Eve and can still go towards the campaign, as long as the checks are dated by Dec. 31.
LaRose says that this year has been similar to other years, though with added financial stressors, people may not have been able to donate as much. “This happens to be a year where some people are really stretched,” LaRose said, “so … we’ve been really excited to see some donors who are able to give more give a little bit more to help those who haven’t really been able to give.”
In an interview on WKBK’s Good Morning Program earlier this month, LaRose said that typically December sees a greater amount of donations and that often, the last 33 percent of the goal comes in during the 12th month of the year.
“We are really hopeful that our community will be able to give a little bit more this year to help those who are in need,” LaRose said, “especially knowing that there have been so many changes in funding and that more and more people are coming into shelters, and into food pantries to help make ends meet.”
To donate to the “Our Monadnock, Our Impact” campaign, you can visit muw.org and click on the donate button, text “MUW” to 41444, or you can write a check to the Monadnock United Way at 23 Center Street, Keene, N.H., 03431. Donations for the campaign specifically will be accepted through Dec. 31.
“We are really grateful to this community for always coming forward and helping out those who have needs,” LaRose said. “It is an honor for us to be able to do this for our community, and we are grateful to everybody in the Monadnock Region.”
